How to Respond to a Gating Step

Updated over a month ago

ℹ️ What is a Gating Step?

The sourcing organization may include a gating step in your sourcing project. This step requires you to agree to specific terms or conditions before accessing more project details. These conditions often cover contracts, guidelines, or project scope.

📍How to access the Gating Step

If present, the gating step is the first thing you’ll see when entering the project. It must be completed before moving forward.

You can download any document by clicking the download icon next to it, as shown below.

✅ Review and Complete the Gating Step

Review shared information

You’ll be asked to review the terms, requirements, or conditions, either as documents or within the gating step itself. Please read these carefully as they are essential for participation.

Accept / Decline

After reviewing, decide to agree or decline:

✔️Agree

By agreeing, you legally accept the terms and gain access to the full project, including documents, bid sheets, questionnaires, and descriptions.

✖️Decline

It is important to note that declining the terms is irreversible(!). Once you decline, you will no longer be able to participate in the project or access any further information related to it

If you have questions, contact the sourcing manager for clarifications on project specific questions.
